清明上河图 Along the River, in the rain

The Qing court version, painted in 1736 for the Qianlong emperor, held by the National Palace Museum. Lightly graded from a public-domain scan on Wikimedia Commons. A few of the figures are lifted off the silk to walk the streets; every umbrella and every drop of rain is drawn over the painting, never onto it.
